-- Purpose --
We want this blog to document some of our favorite moments and experiences as we travel around the world over the years. This is partially for our benefit - so we make sure not to miss anything! But, it's also so we can keep in touch with our friends and family. We love to hear from you so let us know what you think!

Cusco Day 3 - Saqsaywaman

After having a good dinner last night overlooking the Placa del Armas, we went back to the hotel and took up the entirety of the jacuzzi, intimidating anyone who might have wanted to join with our presence.

This morning we had another good breakfast to power us for the day forward. Then, Erika, Adam, and I took a cab up to Saqsaywaman - the ancient seat of the Incan empire. Saqsaywaman sits high above Cusco, as the head to the Puma shape that the city is designed in.

After a winding drive up, we got to the park and saw the ruins. We got a really tremendous guide named Carlos who showed us around for an hour.

He told us of the remarkable and intricate designs, the history of the ruins, and he always lines is up for the best photo.  These ruins were remarkable and we learned a great deal from Carlos.

After the tour was over, we made some more friends.

Some of us got friendlier than others.

Then we hiked down from the hilltop ruins down back to the center of Cusco and to our hotel. There, Simon tried lemongrass tea... and didn't like it. Hilarity ensued.

The rest of the day we take it easy in preparation for our hike. We're having dinner at Cynthia's recommended dinner spot, then meeting with our hiking guide at 6pm, and then doing a final pack before an important night's sleep. We are being picked up at 4:30AM tomorrow morning. Wish us luck and safety on the hike. We'll have no way to contact you all until Wednesday night but check back then!

Until then, Let's Go Blues!!!!
