After waking up a little later than we hoped, Matt, Paul and I went out for the second day of our Matt-guided walking tour around Barcelona. We took the metro to the south of Barcelona and walked around the harbor and the pier/aquarium area before heading up the road to La Rambla, the most famous boulevard in the world.
We saw hundreds of small shops and vendors and loads of really interesting street performers or street actors.
This hovering man freaked us out a little bit.
I also got a quick shave from Edward Scissorhands.
We capped off our walk in La Rambla by meeting Lionel Messi.
We then got off La Rambla and walked over to the Barcelona Cathedral via the beautiful alleys of Barcelona. We also found my favorite square in the world.
We also proved the old adage "I are an engineer," albeit a little differently than we expected.
Finally, we headed back down La Rambla to get to the City Park and saw the Catalunya Parliament.
Now we're back at our hostel watching the Uruguay-Germany 3rd place game and getting excited to cheer on Espana tomorrow with all of Barcelona!
Cheers!
-Simon
