After landing in Zurich, we very quickly got our bags from baggage claim and then met Aunt Rennie at the airport. She led us onto the boys’ first train and into Zurich, where we were able to drop off our bags in storage with our Airbnb until it was fully ready.
We then walked over to Rennie and Hang Hang’s apartment where we could all relax and have tea.
In late morning, we took a tram into old town Zurich and then had a leisurely lunch, where Bennett set a record for most time taken to successfully consume a croque monsieur. He eventually loved every bite. The rest of us liked our meals, too.
From there, we walked further up and down old town, the boys loved filling up their water bottles from the public fountains, we darted into Rennie’s favorite chocolate shop for some bonbons and cold chocolate drink, and we saw the bridges connecting the sides of Zurich.
Nico enjoyed being carried by Daddy so much that he fell asleep for 30 minutes while the smooth suspension took him around the sites. That was our cue to take the tram back, drag our bags up into our ready Airbnb and let the boys have quiet time while Rennie and I walked to the grocery store to get some breakfast staples.
Finally, we fed and washed the muppets (and have been trying to coax Nico to sleep) while Hang Hang came over for delicious takeout.
Tomorrow, we’re off to do more exploring! For now, I radio my comrades to see if Nico has finally fallen asleep so I can go back to admiring the view out of our Airbnb.
I love Nico’s willpower so much, I hope he finally caved and fell asleep!
